About Us
The Cookie Throwdown was the brain child of Patty Matthews, one of 9 siblings, and honors her big sister, Suzie Matthews.
Suzie was a a wonderful Daughter, a loving Sister to 8 siblings, a fantastic aunt to 10 nephews and one niece, and a devoted friend and teacher to many. She was a lifelong resident of Upper Arlington, and taught music at Jones Middle School in UA for over 25 years.
Suz bravely battled breast cancer for 10 years and, while she lost the battle in March 2011, her spirit and memory is honored with love, joy and cookies!
We miss and love you, Suz!

We lost a member of our organizing committee: Mary Beth Little. Mary Beth passed away in May, 2017 and Patty is forever grateful for Mary Beth's help on Cookie Throwdown Day and pre-planning.
